PDP Plots to Replace Bukola Saraki if Removed over CCT Trial

Plans are on underground by the senators elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party to ensure the emergence of one of them as the President of the Senate if the embattled incumbent, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is removed as a result of his ongoing trial ‎at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.
Saraki is standing trial at the CCT over alleged false declaration of assets. Saraki has already started distancing himself from President Muhammadu Buhari recently.
This was evident when he shunned the National Executive Committee meeting of their party, the All Progressives Congress.
At the NEC meeting, no member of the APC from Kwara State was also present, a development insiders said signifies that Saraki might have resolved to declare a ‎full scale war on Buhari who has refused to intervene in his trial at the CCT.
PDP Senators had on Wednesday held a meeting on various issues affecting the party and Saraki’s trial at the CCT.‎
Alluding to Saraki’s preparedness to engage President Buhari in a duel was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Peter Nwaboshi, who on Wednesday vowed that the PDP would produce the next Senate president in the event that the incumbent was forced out of office.
Nwaboshi, who is a Saraki loyalist in the Senate, in an interview with journalists‎ in Abuja decried what he called messages of blackmail against the Senate president on account of his trial at the CCT.
He said the PDP was ready to replicate the current system in the United States of America where the Republican Party is in charge of the parliament, while the Democrats are in control of the executive.
He said: “Well, I wish APC the best of luck if they are making that wild goose chase.
“But I want you to mark what I’m saying: I was the first to address the press in Port Harcourt and I told them that Saraki was going to win the Senate presidency and I gave them my reasons.
“Then, nobody ever thought that Saraki was going to win.
“People were saying that APC had decided.
“But it was clear to me that he was going to win and I had to address the press.
“I said Saraki was going to win and that he was going to get my vote.
“Eventually, we went there, he won.
“If, but God forbid, because we don’t see it coming, by chance Saraki is removed, I can tell you that PDP will produce the next Senate president.”
On how the PDP will get the support of APC senators to win Senate presidency,‎ Nwaoboshi said: “We only need three and we have it.
“The calculation is very clear to me.
“The calculation is very clear for PDP.
“We know what it will take us.
“When I told them that Saraki was going to win, I did a lot of mathematical calculations based on the facts on the ground and it is even clearer to me now that the PDP will win it.
“We will win it.
“If anybody is thinking that a PDP man is going to vote against a PDP candidate, he is telling you a lie.
“We have people and we know how to get the people from APC.
“We will win and that will be very interesting.
“What is happening in America is going to happen in Nigeria.
“America has a Republican Senate but the executive is led by Democrats.
“So, it’s happening in different parts of the world.
“I can tell you with what’s on the ground that we will produce the next Senate President.
“The man (Saraki) is going to court and he is obeying the court order.
“Until it is proven that he is guilty, no amount of blackmail will make us shift our ground and our support for him.
“In any case, my party, the PDP, we have resolved in our meeting to support him.
“So, there is no basis for him to resign.”
It could be recalled that Saraki’s crisis started when he kicked against his party’s position on the Senate Presidency and conceded the Deputy Senate President seat to Ike Ekweremadu (PDP Enugu).

'Social Media Kills Comedy Culture' - Kevin Hart

American comedian and actor Kevin Hart doesn't want fans to spoil the fun by sharing his gags on social media.

Speaking to the media ahead of Wednesday night's show in Johannesburg‚ the third leg of his What Now? Comedy Tour in South Africa‚ Hart explained that strict rules on photography at his stand-up shows are due to his need to protect his craft.
"Comedy isn't music‚ you can hear a song over and over again‚ you can sing a song over and over again. A joke is different‚ you've heard a joke once it's funny that time‚ the second time you'll chuckle‚ the third time you get it.
"Social media‚ as much as I love it and embrace it‚ it's the killer of our culture because people can't do anything and sit and watch without it being recorded‚ without it being shared.
"If I allow people to record or have their phones out during my show‚ then there would be no element of surprise with me being here today. The people that are going to the show tomorrow would've seen the show virally thirteen or fourteen times.
"When you look at some of the biggest tours this year‚ there was no surprise going into those tours because you know what the artist had because everybody shared it‚ every blog picked it up.
"You don't see anything about my shows because I want to save it. I want each experience to be amazing for the people I'm giving the experience to. If I don't‚ I feel like I'm doing a disservice."
At his shows‚ fans are given about two minutes or so to take pictures and videos at the beginning‚ anything beyond that is strictly prohibited.
Hart also said that he will be making regular visits to South Africa.
"You know what‚ this needs to be something that's now on my list to do yearly. I need to frequent these parts and treat it the same way I treat my fanbase domestically. You know I mean‚ if I'm trying to become the international success that I wanna be‚ you have to be seen on an international level and South Africa is on that list of international places with amazing people so you'll see me here a lot now‚" said Hart.
Commenting on why he chose to come to South Africa now‚ he said: "... This [trip] is something that is long overdue‚ it was on a list to do and didn't happen for quite some time because I felt the timing wasn't right".
"I'm glad that I was patient about it and waited until now because it paid off. It's turned out to be something really really special."

Spanish club Valencia Fires coach Gary Neville

Spanish club Valencia has fired coach Gary Neville less than four months after hiring the former England defender.
The club made the announcement on Wednesday, nine days after it lost its third game in a row in the Spanish league.
"After careful consideration, the club decided to make a change with the best interests of the Valencia CF moving forward this season," it said in statement. "We thank Gary for his work at Valencia and wish him the best in the future."

Valencia also released a message from Neville.
"I would like to thank Valencia Football Club, the fans, staff and the players," he said. "I would have liked to have continued the work I started but understand that we are in a results business and in the 28 games they have not been to my standards or to those which are required by this club."
Valencia won only 10 games under Neville, drawing seven and losing the other 11.
The club said assistant coach Pako Ayestaran will take over the squad until the end of the season. Ayestaran had been with Valencia as an assistant from 2001-04, when it won two Spanish league titles and a UEFA Cup trophy.
He later became an assistant coach with Liverpool, helping the English club win the 2005 Champions League and the 2006 FA Cup. He then worked as head coach for Maccabi Tel Aviv in Israel and Santos Laguna and Estudiantes Tecos in Mexico.
Neville was in his first head-coaching job. He spent much of his post-Manchester United playing career as a TV pundit before taking the part-time coaching role with England in 2012. He is expected to rejoin the England squad ahead of the upcoming European Championship in France.
Neville leaves Valencia 14th in the Spanish league standings, only six points above relegation zone.
After Neville took over in December, Valencia went 12 games without a win in the Spanish league. It won two in a row in February, but earned only one other victory after that.
The team has lost three consecutive league games and was eliminated by Spanish rival Athletic Bilbao in the round of 16 of the Europa League. The latest loss was at home to Celta Vigo on Sunday, and before that it had been defeated at last-place Levante.
Valencia's next game is at Las Palmas, which is only one point behind the club in the Spanish league.

Michael Jackson's kids face Losing Inheritance

Michael Jackson's children will reportedly lose most of their R19,594,205,244 inheritance to tax bills and other debts.

The late singer's kids, Prince, 19, Paris, 17, and Blanket, 14, were due to inherit their windfall when they turn 30 but tax authorities are said to be seeking  R12,092,209,702 from the Thriller hitmaker's estate. And Michael - who died of acute Propofol intoxication in June 2009 - is believed to have died with over R 6,531,489,948 in other debts.

A source told The Sun newspaper: ''On paper the kids are billionaires thanks to these massive sums. But the truth is those sums will barely be in their accounts for any time as they have this huge tax bill to settle. ''The IRS (Internal Revenue Service) had been public about their demand asking for as much as R12,092,209,702, with more charges coming for late payments.''

The tax figure has just increased by around R1,523,636,454 after Michael's state in Sony/ATVMusic Publishing was recently sold for R11,451,879,042 . The source added: ''The estate has challenged that enormous figure, but the Sony deal simply ups the amount they owe. "It was recently revealed the King of Pop's children are missing something else from their inheritance as his treasured Gone With the Wind Oscar has disappeared. The 'Bad' singer bought the 1940 Best Picture statuette for R23,480,534- considerably more than its R4,574,130 worth - at an auction in 1999, but executors of his estate are now unable to find the trophy. Lawyer Howard Weitzman said: ''The estate does not know where the Gone With the Wind statuette is.

''We would like to have that Oscar because it belongs to Michael's children. I'm hopeful it will turn up at some point.'' It is unclear whether the Billie Jean hitmaker kept the Oscar - which was awarded to legendary producer David O. Selznick - at his Neverland estate in California, the Los Angeles home he shared with his children when he died, or even at a storage facility.

I found Condoms in my Wife’s bag, She had S3x with Another Man in my House – Husband tells Court

“ I found condoms in my wife’s bag and she could not give a satisfactory explanation how she came about it,’’ an estranged hubby told an Ibadan Customary Court just as the court dissolved the seven-year-old marriage on Tuesday.
A Mapo Customary Court dissolved the union between Sikiru Alabi and his wife, Basira, on the grounds of prostitution and adultery.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Alabi, an automobile mechanic in Popo Yemoja area of the metropolis had approached the court, seeking an end to his marriage to Basira, a hairdresser at Idi Arere area of the city.
The President of the court, Mr Ademola Odunade, said cheating on the part of a husband or wife was “deadly’’.
He ruled:“It is in view of the circumstances surrounding the issue at hand that the court decided to put an end to the relationship between Alabi and Basira.
“Alabi shall take custody of the five and a half year-old child produced by the union, while Basira should be free to see the child in court anytime she wants.’’
The husband told the court:“Nemesis caught up with her recently when I met a man on her deeply engaged in sexual intercourse right in my house.
“I was mad, but Basira quickly pleaded with me, promising not to do it again.
“Though, I forgave her, but she is still neck deep in adultery.’’
Alabi said Basira was also engaged in prostitution and had continued to rain curses on him and his relatives for her adultery.
Basira, however, did not deny the allegations, saying:“It is true that there is no more love between I and Alabi.’’
Basira pleaded with the court to grant her the custody of the child after dissolving the marriage.

Acer's New All-Aluminum Chromebook Offers up to 14 Hours of Battery Life

Acer has been a familiar part of the Chromebook market for a while now, offering devices like the Chromebook 15 that deliver more screen real estate than we're used to in this category. Its latest addition to the market — the Chromebook 14 — follows this trend, providing a 14-inch display with the choice between HD (1366 x 768) and full HD (1920 x 1080) resolutions. The Chromebook 14 is also Acer's first to use an all-aluminum chassis, and with the HD version the company promises up to 14 hours of battery life.
Acer hasn't revealed all the pricing for the Chromebook 14, but says the full HD version will start selling from $299.99 with 32GB of flash storage (the cheaper eMMC type), a 1.6 GHz Intel Celeron processor, and 4GB of RAM. This model is available to preorder now on Amazon, and will be coming to Best Buy in April. There'll also be a version with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, but pricing and availability for this model have yet to be announced.
As with Acer's Chromebook 15, the main attraction of the Chromebook 14 seems to be its large display. Chromebooks may be billed as computers for "everybody," but the best devices — such as Dell's Chromebook 11 — tend to have smaller screens, while customers still want bigger displays (and the bigger keyboards that go with them). Acer's previous attempts to cater to this audience have been somewhat undercut by cheap build quality. Maybe with the Chromebook 14 and its aluminum chassis, the company will get the balance right.

Soundcloud is Launching a Subscription Music Service

Version 4 of the Soundcloud iOS app has been released today, and its update notes carry news of an as-yet-unannounced new service: Soundcloud Go. Free for the first 30 days and $12.99 per month on iOS thereafter, Go appears to be Soundcloud's venture into the world of paid music streaming subscriptions, with the company promising a newly expanded catalog of artists and an entirely ad-free experience. Offline playback is also available, and the Go name in itself suggests a focus on attracting mobile users.

Soundcloud is already one of the most popular free music destinations online, however it's been grappling with the issue of how to turn its popularity into a sustainable business model. The Google Play Store doesn't yet reflect an update that includes Soundcloud Go, so if you want to get an early taste of Soundcloud's upcoming subscription service, grabbing an iOS device will be your best bet for now.

Now that Go has become official, its web and Android pricing has been revealed at $9.99. That puts it in line with the most common subscription services already in operation, though it will be upsetting to iPhone owners who might want to get onboard. The iOS markup is most likely a reflection of the 30 percent cut that Apple takes on app purchases from its store.

What to Expect from Microsoft’s Build 2016 Conference

Microsoft is back in San Francisco this week for Build 2016. It’s an annual tradition that sees the company lay out its software plans for the rest of the year.

While last year’s Build saw Microsoft unveil its grand plans for Android and iOS apps on Windows 10, we’re not expecting huge news this year. Microsoft shipped Windows 10 last July, and at Build this year it’s going to be focused on attracting developers to that platform with updates it has planned. HoloLens is also starting to ship to developers, so we’re going to hear a lot more about Microsoft’s plans for its augmented reality headset.
Build 2016 starts Wednesday at 11:30AM ET / 8:30AM PT. We'll be in San Francisco covering the event, and you'll be able to follow along with our live blog for up-to-the-second reports. For now, you can catch up on exactly what to expect below.

Windows 10

Windows 10 has been steadily updated with improvements and fixes since its debut in July, but Microsoft has a lot more planned for the future. While current test versions of Windows 10 haven’t included many new features, we’re hoping to hear about a few new additions at Build. Microsoft has teased "two highly-requested surprises" for its Windows 10 Live Tiles, and many are hoping that this will include interactive Live Tiles that make it easier to respond and interact with notifications within apps.

Windows Phone

Windows Phone has had a tough year. While Microsoft launched its Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL devices late last year, sales numbers of all Lumias plummeted 57 percent in the recent quarter. Microsoft isn’t planning to produce a large amount of handsets anymore, so those sales figures will decline even further.

Xbox apps

Microsoft has been teasing Windows 10 apps on Xbox for what feels like years. It’s finally ready to talk about new apps and a store for Xbox at Build this week. We’re expecting to hear a lot about how developers will be able to create games and apps that work across Windows 10 on PCs and the Xbox One. It’s a key part of Microsoft’s universal app strategy, and the company has been slowly crafting just how it handles apps and the complicated process of approvals for the upcoming app store.

HoloLens

HoloLens development kits are shipping out to developers this week, so expect to hear a lot about HoloLens at Build. Microsoft’s annual developer conference is a good opportunity to show off more impressive demos, but it’s getting closer to a shipping product so it’s likely we’ll start seeing real HoloLens apps and games.
Microsoft let developers get a taste of HoloLens last year with a hands-on experience, and it’s likely the company will have a similar setup this time. While we’ve seen what the headset is capable of, it’s time to see what developers can do with it.

Office and the cloud

Microsoft’s Build 2016 keynote will be full of cloud talk. Expect to hear more about advancements in Azure, and how developers can take advantage of Microsoft’s cloud platform for their apps. Developers will be keen to hear about how tools and cloud services are being improved, and it’s likely that Microsoft will spend a large amount of time discussing the merits of its Azure platform.
On the Office side, Microsoft has acquired Sunrise and Wunderlist over the past year. The software giant has promised that Sunrise will start appearing as the calendar interface in Outlook mobile, and we’re waiting to see what the plan is for Wunderlist. Microsoft also recently acquired SwiftKey and Ray Ozzie’s Talko messaging app. While all of these acquisitions have been interesting additions to Microsoft’s cross-platform app strategy, we’re still waiting to hear if Microsoft plans to make them interact with each other in meaningful ways. The majority of these apps fall into the Office side of Microsoft, so could the Office team have something new and exciting to show at Build this year?

All You Need to Know About The New "Iphone SE"

Apple launched the iPhone SE along with a new iPad Pro and brand new watch bands for the Apple Watch at a townhall meeting that held on March 21, 2016. The SE reportedly stands for “Special Edition”.

The new iPhone SE has a 4-inch display, looks almost identical in design to the iPhone 5s and will come in space grey, silver, gold and rose gold.
The camera is the same as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, with 12-megapixel sensor and the ability to capture 4K video. It can also capture and view Live Photos, although it doesn’t support 3D Touch.

ScreenShotting and Sharing "SnapChat" Snaps Can Land You in Jail

There are two types of people on Snapchat.
Category 1: Those that are there to have fun
Category 2: Those that are there to stalk people
If you fall under category 2, then this post is for you. You might get into trouble one of these days if you do not desist from screenshotting and sharing snaps, especially if you live in the UK.
According to the Independent, United Kingdom’s culture minister, Ed Vaizey has said that those who engage in this dastardly act may be sued by the original owner of the snaps, and may be thrown in jail like a common criminal.
“Under UK copyright law, it would be unlawful for a Snapchat user to copy an image and make it available to the public without the consent of the image owner,” the minister warned.
The image owner would be able to sue anyone who does this for copyright infringement.”
Gheun.
“The disclosure of private sexual photographs or films without the consent of an individual who appears in them and with intent to cause that individual distress, is an offence under Section 33 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015,” he said.
Those convicted could face a maximum sentence of two years in prison.
Copyright infringement itself is punishable by 10 years in prison and/or an “unlimited” fine, though this is restricted to six months in prioson and a £50,000 fine in magistrates’ courts.”
Gheun Gheun.
Yes, what makes Snapchat unique is the way it let’s you share interesting and memorable moments around your day for only 24 hours… but you see, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other preceding social media networks allows us to enjoy and save these moments for longer periods.
Pardon us for being spoilt, but we can’t help it.
It would take more than Replays to discourage Snapchatters from screenshotting the ‘juiciest of gists’.

Nokia Becomes a Virtual Reality Pioneer with "Star Wars" Inspired "Ozo Camera"

What made you love your Nokia phones before Apple’s iPhone came and kicked them in the behind? For most folks, it was the durability. Those were the glory days. Before it sold its mobile business to Microsoft in 2014 for $7.2bn, and the eventual ‘death’.
However, Nokia the technology company is still alive and kicking. Maybe even better that before.
The Finnish firm is making a hardware comeback—with a $60,000 virtual-reality camera called OZO.

The camera is the brainchild of Ramzi Haidamus, a Dolby Laboratories veteran whom Nokia hired to be president of its technology division in July 2014, just after it got out of the cellphone business.
Nokia Technology is confident that the device which has eight coordinated cameras to fully capture 3D for replay on VR headsets, can be a great comeback for the Nokia brand and become a big hit with advertisers.
Nokia is already trying out ad creation through the OZO via tests with McDonalds and American Airlines. The device is aimed squarely at professional filmmakers rather than consumers.
Nokia believes VR will be the channel of the future. Seeing as tech giants such as Samsung, Facebook and other mobile device makers are all beginning to incorporate VR.
Only time will tell how successful OZO or Nokia’s venture into VR will be. However, it’ll be wise not to bet against the capacity of the iconic Finnish brand to rule the world, yet again.
