Photo Story: Emeka And The Worrier Princess Adaobi [Part 1]

Once up a time in UMUAHIA, a small village in eastern NIGERIA, there lived a warrior princess ADAOBI by name, she had a pet named DIKE. ADAOBI was a very beautiful princess who loved playing games,she would always go hunting with her dog dike and each day they always come home with a kill. umuahia and the neighboring village had a unique lifestyle and dress style. a typical umuahite would have series of tribal marks and paintings drawn on their body for identification and to easily distinguish them from indegenes/citizens of the next community. their men and women always had their chest exposed, although covered with some paintings. this culture has been passed down from generation to generation as the gods of their ancestors had instructed. ada set out for hunting. she was accompanied by her only partner in crime dike... dike had earlier on suggested they should go fishing and adaobi agreed to that, so they went to the river to fish. dike was a very smart and field-trained dog.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10550" align="alignnone" width="720"] the day was a very rewarding one because they caught a lot of fishes and by noon they started going back home.
Something happened on the way.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10551" align="alignnone" width="720"] someone out of nowhere grabbed adaobi from behind. his body structure revealed more of a warrior,his hands were very hard and he seemed more of a giant, ada thought to herself.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10552" align="alignnone" width="720"] dike the smart dog could sense danger , he quickly knocked the warrior down and passed adaobi's bow to her[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10553" align="alignnone" width="720"] ada stood up quickly and almost got the warrior killed ...."i surrender, i mean no harm, my name is emeka" said the warrior[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10554" align="alignnone" width="720"] adaobi tied emeka up and took him to her village , the people of umuahia wondered about what the princess was up to..."who is the stranger and what has the princess got to do with him" they all murmured while Ada head straight to the palace[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10555" align="alignnone" width="720"] ada had a friend chisom. chisom was intelligent and beautiful.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10556" align="alignnone" width="720"] chisom watched from a distance while ada tied emeka up to a tree.
Ada was very hungry, so she went into the royal kitchen to prepare something to eat[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10557" align="alignnone" width="720"] chisom was interested in knowing more about emeka,she got close and started to ask series of questions which emeka never hesitated to answer in a brilliant and interesting manner,she liked him aready. emeka succeeded in convincing chisom to untie him and she obliged[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10558" align="alignnone" width="720"] dike never agreed to her decision and tried to stop her , before they both knew it emeka had untied himself[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10559" align="alignnone" width="720"] ada noticed someone walking close to her from behind , she tried to reach to her dagger for self defense[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10560" align="alignnone" width="720"] but emeka quickly disarmed her ,emeka was a very handsome young man that no lady could resist easily[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10561" align="alignnone" width="720"] emeka committed a serious crime in umuahia, ada warned him but he was very stubborn and would not listen, he ate from the royal kitchen.
the penalty for all crimes committed within the territories of umuahia community was death[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10562" align="alignnone" width="720"] information reached the queen EZENWANYI and she came with some guards to arrest emeka[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10563" align="alignnone" width="720"] she sentenced emeka to death by stabbing[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10564" align="alignnone" width="720"] she gave her daughter the honor of killing emeka
"Here, use this royal dagger to kill the stranger, make me proud and show the community that you are as strong as your mother" ezenwanyi said[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10565" align="alignnone" width="720"] ada led emeka away to be killed . it was a decision she was never comfortable with[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10566" align="alignnone" width="720"] ezenwanyi secretly sent two guards to confirm emeka's death by returning the royal dagger with the stranger's blood on it. unfortunately they were disappointed because ada could never kill the young man[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10567" align="alignnone" width="720"] ada broke the law of the land, she disobeyed the queen whose command was supreme and final . she had cut emeka lose[/caption] [caption id="attachment_10568" align="alignnone" width="720"] the guards seized her, the superior guard gave the dagger to Emeka and asked him to kill adaobi
adaobi looked right into emeka's eyes.

We posted the part one earlier here and this is the part 2 of the story

[caption id="attachment_13744" align="alignnone" width="720"] the Soldiers gave Emeka the dagger to kill Adaobi. unfortunately, Emeka had already made a split-second decision. He used His eyes to signal Dike for an attack. this was a signal which Dike understood very clearly.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13745" align="alignnone" width="720"] in split-second Dike attacked one of the guards and bit off his right arm. Emeka strangled the other guard to death with bare hands for he was a skillful warrior. He assisted Dike and they successfully killed the two guards while Adaobi watched in great amazement.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13746" align="alignnone" width="720"] Emeka pulled Adaobi up. He looked straight into her eyes and said what seemed to be the sweetest words Adaobi ever heard her whole life. "i love you so much and cannot afford to lose you, i would do whatever it takes to protect you and your happiness would be my priority from this moment on, thanks for sparing my life"--Emeka said as he kissed her .

Adaobi was dumbfounded. no one had ever made her feel that way her whole life,she never had a real boyfriend of her own and was in fact still a virgin, her friends would always call her the VIRGIN PRINCESS each time they joked.
she couldn't resist emeka ,she enjoyed the moment while emeka kissed her passionately. dike watched them in bliss and the whole atmosphere was filled with love and romance .[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13747" align="alignnone" width="720"] they found a land where no one dwelt, this land was filled with so many good things . Adaobi would always fetch some fire woods to be used as fuel to cook the meal[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13748" align="alignnone" width="720"] Emeka and Dike became good friends. they always hunt together and came back home everyday with the best kill. they were all happy and had more than enough to eat and drink.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13749" align="alignnone" width="720"] Emeka and Adaobi literally did everything together. This includes bathing in the stream.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13750" align="alignnone" width="720"] They had to renew their tribal marks of identification which was washed off in the stream. They helped themselves to do this.
Emeka would always tell some interesting stories and Ada never got bored of listening to his stories.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13751" align="alignnone" width="720"] One fateful-night Emeka went hunting leaving Dike behind to watch over Adaobi.
Dike noticed flames far away and started barking. Ada got up and looked towards the direction of the flame, lo and behold UMUAHIA was on fire, her village was going down in flames.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13752" align="alignnone" width="720"] Ada did not wait for Emeka to return, She ran back to her village and Dike followed.
On getting to UMUAHIA they discovered that the whole place has been surrounded by fierce looking soldiers. there were too many of them and this got ada and dike scared. So they sneaked in quietly.[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13753" align="alignnone" width="720"] The women of UMUAHIA were held captive. Ada couldn't keep her cool any longer when she saw Chisom being maltreated by a soldier on guard .[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13754" align="alignnone" width="720"] She killed the guard and Dike helped to set the women free.
"where is my mother? who are these people? what do they want ?what happened here?
ada asked chisom too many questions at a time.
"i dont know,the soldiers took ezenwanyi to one of the huts in the palace".....chisom said.
ada couldn't wait for her to finish talking, she immediately went searching for her mother desperately and ready to put up a fight[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13755" align="alignnone" width="720"] The soldiers discovered an intruder. Ada's prescene was uncovered. they all surrounded her, Ada tried to fight but there were too many of them.
they captured her alive because she looked more different from the other women, they taught to themselves that this must be the Princess.
the soldiers took ada to thier commander[/caption] [caption id="attachment_13743" align="alignnone" width="720"] Ada was completely hypnotized.
the commander of the army that had destroyed her own village was someone she never expected to see.
CHUKWUEMEKA....ada screamed in a loud voice. for this was emeka's full name .
