Last year, Asus released its ZenPad S 8.0. (We didn’t dig it.) Now, Asus is pairing up with Verizon to release its ZenPad Z8. The new device keeps with Asus’ low prices — it’ll retail for $249.99. The ZenPad S 8.0 was priced at $229. Oh, and the new ZenPad has USB-C! Here are the other details:
- 7.9-inch display with 2048x1536 display
- Snapdragon 650 hexa-core 64-bit processor
- 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage
- Up to 128GB of expandable storage
- 8-megapixel rear-facing camera
- 2-megapixel front-facing camera
- Android Marshmallow
The ZenPad Z8 tablet is now available for pre-order and will be stocked in Verizon stores starting June 23. Even with the higher price, this tablet isn't much of an upgrade from the S 8.0. That tablet had a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and just as much storage with the opportunity to purchase a version with 64GB. All that differentiates the ZenPad Z8 is its new processor.
