The Playboy empire is for sale. Chief Executive Scott Flanders said the move was coming following wider expressions of interest in the company that had been made following the decision to put the Playboy Mansion on the market in January. A sale, which puts the company’s assets at upward of $500 million, would include the magazine, the website, and licensing deals.
Flanders told CNN that “several well-funded entities have expressed interest.” But a Wall Street Journal article postulates that the company could be worth a lot more than the cited $500 million, since it would also include the Playboy and Hefner brands.
